Christ shall render

Most faithful friend
Most steadfast brother
Most certain hope
Through pain or pleasure

Sweetest Savior
Kindest Guide
Mightiest God
In trial or triumph

Lest my heart wax waverly, nervous
Lest my will melt before the tempter
Lest my eyes turn to that which falsely glitters
Lest my ears to false enchantments

Least let me drift, with tide and temper
Least forget, that Christ shall render

Gratitude (I)

avenues along which to run
buddies long forsaken yet suddenly found
car rides lengthened
dinners lingered over
eves of weekends
feet with which to climb stairs
greenery all around
hope in my heart
impossibilities made real
Jesus
kisses for each cheek
love for the unlovely and unloved
mealtime mates
nuances of heaven
ovens
piano music
quietness in the mango tree
risen saviour
squirrel eating a mango
tea, green
utter grace
victory by faith
water
xylophones in the orchestra
youth and age
zest for life, in the midst of lemony days
