Change
Spring calls for
fresh colours
a cooler wardrobe
lighter food
lengthened days
In spring I might
walk instead of drive
eat outside instead of in
drink iced tea
sprawl on the grass
It's spring! I must
stow away old garb
change the curtains
make sorbet
dust the garden chairs
lose weight
plant daff bulbs by the path
go running
stay fit
And so, I say,
'Welcome, spring!'
Encouragement from an old diary:
"... there's only one thing to do if your resevoir runs dry. You've got to go deeper."
Phillip Yancey's pastor's spiritual director
